Do the words “pottery” and “porcelain” accelerate your heart beat? Do you love vintage mid-century collectibles? Anthea Conlon dba “THE VINTAGE VAGABOND” invites you to come and see some of the most unusual and colorful mid-century collectible art pottery and white bisque porcelain you might imagine. West German art pottery and porcelain pieces are quite unique with a retro as well as modern look lending itself to a variety of decors.

Post WWII Germany experienced an explosion of creativity within the art community that lasted about 20 years, consequently there is no one word that would easily describe these pieces and the amazing variety of shapes, colors, textures, and glazes. The majority of my West German pieces date from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s and came directly from collectors in Germany. I have makers such as Ruscha, Scheurich, Jasba, Bay, Rosenthal, Thomas, and Hutschenreuther. With many more pieces in storage I may be able to accommodate you with color scheme or size. Please give me a call or send an email.

West German art pottery and porcelain pieces are showing up at design shows in New York City and in decorating magazine ads. Home and Garden Television has done a segment on West German art pottery. Judith Miller, an expert in the field of antiques and collectibles, has given her nod of approval for this “new” collectible as well.

You will find I have gathered a variety of other fun vintage mid-century items such as linens, glass, ceramics, metal, wood primitives, and occasional furniture. Just about anything that I find interesting might show up. Happy hunting!
